Thing #22: Audio Books

March 1, 2008

*sigh* I can’t finish this one because I’m not at the library, and won’t be until Tuesday – AFTER the deadline for the prize stuff.  I’m pretty sure that NetLibrary has some pretty awesome stuff though.  It has to, if our library uses it, right?

  1. Call the library today and get a librarian/LA to give you a password. Then you can use it at home.

  2. I made an account for acl20 folk who don’t have and can’t get to the library today librarian2009/learning20

  3. Awesome! Thanks!

I poked around a little bit and found some neat stuff. I couldn’t get the eAudiobooks to work right on my laptop, so I’ll have to try it again once I get all the necessary programs.

The ebooks weren’t as “clunky” as I thought they’d be, but I probably wouldn’t read for pleasure with this technology. It might work best for reference stuff for me. I really liked the reader’s advisory books and the different job/interview books too.
