About Me!

I started my customer service career at Sears where I worked faithfully for four years before I sought better opportunities.  That search ended with the Alameda County Library.  I’ve been with the library for the past six years, working my way up to my current position as Library Circulation Supervisor.  Each day brings new opportunities and experiences.  I love my job and know that the library is my future.

I’ve worked my way through an AA in Social Science from Chabot College and a BA in Liberal Studies with a focus in History from CSU East Bay (formerly CSU Hayward).  I received my BA through the Program for Accelerated College Education (PACE), which is geared towards working adults.  At least one class each quarter was completely online while others met at night and on the weekends.  PACE offered me a taste of distance education and helped me to realize that going to school online is better for me than attending face-to-face classes.  I’m currently a graduate student in the Library and Information Science program at San Jose State University.  I plan to receive a MLIS with a focus on library management and policy in Fall 2010 through this (nearly) completely online program.  So far the classes are a lot of work, the people are great, and the assigned reading is interesting.  I hope the program continues in this vein.

When I’m not studying or working I can usually be found working on various projects (quilting, scrapbooking, and decorating), reading, and relaxing.
