Couch to 5K – Week 1 Day 1

Today was the first day of this training plan.  I think it’s 9 weeks long.  Three times a week, I’m supposed to train and work towards actually running a 5K.  FYI, 5k is about 3 miles.

Today’s workout was 20 minutes long.  It consisted of a 5 minute warm-up walk, then a cycle of 1 minute jogging followed by 90 seconds of walking.  It’s all done on my treadmill.  My neighborhood isn’t the safest in the world, and DH freaks out a bit if I go jogging by myself.

This workout wasn’t too bad.  The most annoying part had to do with my shoes untying mid run.  Oh well, I just need to make sure I double knot my laces.

By the time I started itching to finish the run, it was almost over.  Only about 5 minutes to go.  It worked out.
