Itchy Teeth

I have a confession to make: I still have all of my Christmas decorations up.  Yes, that’s right.  You can gasp in horror now.

There’s a good (ish) reason for it though.  I just want to put them all away correctly.

OK, I know, there really isn’t a “correct” way to store my Christmas decorations.  Normally I’d just wrap the ornaments in newspaper and gently put them inside some cardboard boxes.  Then those cardboard boxes would go into the closet under our stairs and the tree would be boxed up in the storage unit.

But here’s the thing: I really don’t like cardboard boxes.  I’m not anti-cardboard by any means.  I understand that there’s a use for it and all.  I simply dislike the way cardboard feels.  Part of that is that when I touch it (or accidentally run my fingernails against it), I can sometimes feel it on my teeth.  Weird huh?  Physically feeling the texture of the cardboard, its dryness, and sometimes its smell can make my teeth feel “itchy.”  I guess itchy is the best description for it.

It happens with brown paper bags sometimes too.  I know… I’m really weird.  You don’t have to tell me twice.

So, yeah…  That’s why I’m not going to put my decorations away until I can do it right.  And by that, I mean in some nice, (non-cardboard) rubber containers.
