About Me!

I started my customer service career at Sears where I worked faithfully for four years before I sought better opportunities.  That search ended with the Alameda County Library.  I’ve been with the library for the past six years, working my way up to my current position as Library Circulation Supervisor.  Each day brings new opportunities and experiences.  I love my job and know that the library is my future.

I’ve worked my way through an AA in Social Science from Chabot College and a BA in Liberal Studies with a focus in History from CSU East Bay (formerly CSU Hayward).  I received my BA through the Program for Accelerated College Education (PACE), which is geared towards working adults.  At least one class each quarter was completely online while others met at night and on the weekends.  PACE offered me a taste of distance education and helped me to realize that going to school online is better for me than attending face-to-face classes.  I received my MLIS from San Jose State University in Spring 2010.  The program was completely online, which offered its own set of challenges and rewards.

When I’m not studying or working I can usually be found working on various projects (quilting, scrapbooking, and decorating), reading, and relaxing with my husband.

  1. Oh my gosh, I am applying to the same library science program! I’m so glad to hear that you love it. I can’t wait to pore over your blog 🙂

  2. Is this Alameda County CA? I used to live there like 20 years ago. I love to scrapbook too and love quilting though I’m not good at it. I am in Georgia now. I’m proud of your Couch 2 5K! Keep up the good work!

    • Yup, you’ve got it right!

Even though I’m done with school, I still haven’t had much time to work on my projects. It’s funny how life keeps getting in the way…

      • I lived there for a while and LOVED going to the niners and giants games, then I moved to Redwood City and eventually to Sunnyvale and worked in San Jose. I had my first daughter out there. It’s definitely fast paced and I’m loving the slow Georgia pace, but I do want to take my kids back to CA for a visit. I want all of us to go to the Redwood Forest, and I haven’t been there either. Anyways, as for scrapbooking, I don’t have alot of time (though I have more than ever now) but when I do have time I LOVE it. It’s so nice to get to know you. 🙂
